OUR MISSION

To establish and facilitate ongoing communication, involvement, support and recognition between Guam National Guard Families and the Guam National Guard in a partnership that promotes the best in both. To inform and refer resources to assist our Soldiers and Family Members in times of need. To train and build Family self reliance and to coordinate programs and services to assist Family Members before, during and after deployment.

The Guam National Guard Family Assistance Center has been established to provide information, referral, and outreach to all Armed Forces and their families while service members are mobilized.

Our Size Essential information and referral services include:

  • ID CARD/DEERS - information and assistance for eligible family members to obtain identification cards and enroll in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).

  • TRICARE - Assistance in coordinating Tricare claims and issues with the nearest Health Benefits Advisor, as well as information on Tricare Health Dental Programs.

  • FINANCIAL RESOURCES & REFERRAL - Referral to the availability of outside/loans, emergency relief funds, resources that can assist with resolving financial problems. Assistance with understanding Military Pay.

  • LEGAL ASSISTANCE - Legal information and coordination with the JAG Office for assistance with Wills, Power of Attorney, Service Members Cvil Relief Act, and other legal matters.

  • CRISIS INTERVENTION AND REFERRAL - Referral and coordination for crisis counseling assistance due to domestic abuse, abuse/neglect of child or vulnerable adult, or danger to self and/or other local human services agencies.

  • COMMUNITY INFORMATION AND OUTREACH - Provide information and referral to various community resources that can assist with an array of unique needs of military families.

Works in support of the commander to assist with execution of the Command Family readiness responsibilities and coordination pertaining to Family Readiness throughout command provide training, handson assistance, and information to subordinate unit commanders and unit Family Readiness Groups Liaison between command and FRG Leadership.

Provides a supportive environment for children and youth through activites and events specifically designed to encourage personal growth, strength of character and moral development in peacetime and through the cycles of deployment.


 Transition Assistance Advisor

Provides a professional in each state/territory to serve as the statewide point of contact to assist Service Members in accessing Department of Veterans Affairs’ health care services and benefits.
